ON-RAMP – Regional Training Center Development (I-90 Corridor, NY)

The Catalyst Strategy Group (CSG), as part of a cross-sector team, is supporting the development of workforce training centers across multiple regions in Upstate New York, including Rochester, Utica, and Albany. These efforts focus on building industry-aligned training capacity in advanced manufacturing, construction trades, and semiconductor-related careers.

The initiative is designed to replicate and adapt a proven workforce training model—developed through the Northland Workforce Training Center—to meet the evolving talent needs of employers across the I-90 corridor and support regional economic development strategies tied to major public and private investments.

CSG provides strategic advisory services focused on governance, workforce strategy, and business plan development, helping to establish the foundation for effective, sustainable training center operations. This includes guidance on organizational structure, stakeholder alignment, outreach and recruitment strategies, and the integration of wraparound services to support student success.

Through this work, CSG helps ensure that each training center is designed to be demand-driven, scalable, and aligned with long-term industry needs—expanding access to high-quality, family-sustaining careers while strengthening regional talent pipelines across New York State.
