Through the firm, Tucker provides strategic advisory services and technical assistance to workforce development boards, economic development organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, and industry partnerships on workforce ecosystem development, regional talent strategies, and the implementation of high‑impact workforce initiatives.
Leadership at Northland Workforce Training Center
Tucker is the inaugural president & CEO of the Northland Workforce Training Center in Buffalo, New York, one of the nation’s most innovative workforce training models focused on preparing individuals for careers in advanced manufacturing and clean energy. Under his leadership, Northland has developed a nationally recognized model that combines industry‑driven curriculum with comprehensive student support services to ensure strong graduation and job placement outcomes. The Northland Workforce Training Center has been recognized nationally as a model for industry‑aligned workforce development and inclusive talent pipeline strategies.
Regional Workforce Coalition Leadership
In addition, Tucker serves as executive director of the Western New York Manufacturing & Technology Workforce Coalition, a regional initiative spanning five counties that aligns employers, workforce organizations, and educational institutions to strengthen talent pipelines for advanced manufacturing and emerging industries. In just two years, the Coalition has built a coordinated regional workforce model that is delivering measurable results, with program graduates generating more than $18 million in economic impact. More importantly, the Coalition is creating pathways to careers with family-sustaining wages and expanding access to the middle class.
Statewide Workforce Initiative Advisory
Tucker also provides strategic advisory and technical assistance to New York State through the Governor’s One Network for Regional Advanced Manufacturing Partnerships (ON‑RAMP) initiative, a $200 million statewide investment designed to establish a network of advanced manufacturing workforce training centers modeled after the Northland Workforce Training Center.
Military Service and Professional Background
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Tucker previously held senior leadership roles at Partners for a Competitive Workforce and the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati. He holds an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Wilberforce University, and an Associate Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
Board Service and National Engagement
Tucker serves on several regional and national advisory boards, including the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, and the New York State Public Subsidy Board. He also serves as guest faculty for the Aspen Institute’s Workforce Leadership Academy.
